Orientation Process

Day 1:

  • Welcoming ceremony
    The welcoming ceremony has budgeted money set aside and includes an at workplace breakfast with all employees welcoming the new employee to the staff. This is a chance for the new employee to get acclimated to the workplace and start building connections with existing employees.  

  • “The Riverhawk Way”
    This next step in the orientation process describes the values and benefits the Riverhawks organization represents. This also describes the responsibilities and the expectations the Riverhawks have day in and day out.

  • Organizational Culture
    It is important that the employee knows what he or she is has for a workplace culture. The Riverhawks want the employee to know we are a family first culture. We have budgeted money set aside for a plethora of family oriented activities. The Riverhawks want to be seen as one big family.

  • New Employee form completion
    The employee must complete all tax forms as well as required job forms to ensure they get paid accordingly.

  • Safety and health policies
    These policies are a review of safety, fire, emergency evacuations, and job related safety issues.

  • Pay periods
    The employee discovers how and when he will be paid.

  • Administration procedure reviews
    This includes security, computer systems, logins, telephone systems, ID badges, supplies and equipment.

Day 2:

  • Supervisor introductory meeting with new employees
    Discuss department and company standards, confidentiality and privacy issues, facility and work station location issues, attendance and punctuality standards, reporting of absences, pay problem reconciliation, time card completion, and complaint procedures.

  • Closing, general questions
    Discussing any questions, comments or concerns with the company or any procedures it may have.

  • First day on the job
    Day two of employee orientation is really the first day the employee will dive into what they will be doing. This is when the employee is introduced to the material they will be working with, as well as the every day in and outs of the company.
